The mission
As recently as 2005, the world guitar festival attracted the attention of music lovers with a program that showcased the presence of Rémi Boucher, the guitar player from Abitibi who enjoys a prestigious career. The following editions confirmed the willingness present in Rouyn-Noranda to attract the best guitar virtuosos, by putting forth a programming that brought together some prominent names of the international music scene. With concerts held in the warm and intimate venues of Noranda’s Old Quarter, free shows on outdoor stages and master classes for the relief musicians, this unique musical event has, in the last four years, shown much gusto in the animation of the region’s cultural life.

Master's Class and improvement aspect
A master’s class takes place in the form of public teaching offered by an invited master to a solo artist. More specifically, it is an instruments course (or interpretation) taught by a professional specialist to a student who wishes to perfect his technique. This very special moment is live in front of the public. At this time, the spectators learn by listening to the comments of the master and by the same token, take advantage of his expertise.
